Minecraft keeps crashing!

My Minecraft has been crashing pretty frequently for a few days now. It usually happens when I break a lot of blocks. Anyone know whats wrong?

I get the standard " This program has stopped working " error prompt whenever it crashes.

I run windows 7 64bits

I had no problems at all before the 1.8 update.

Yes

There seems to be a memory leak.

Are you using the minecraft.exe ? If you use the .jar version you can manually set the memory limit higher which will make it last longer.

I played for about 2 hours but no crash
I used to have furnace crashes (Saving Chunks *freeze*) but those stopped.
