Hello,
Can someone help or know the answer to this,
I have a media server at home and if possible Like to stream media from server to devices.
ps3
xbox one
wii
etc....
The problem is xbox one lost the ability to search for server and play media.
So I was thinking streaming through web browser just localhost to unit but can't find a way to do this with media OUTSIDE web root,
of course have to convert to web streaming.
Any suggestions please or maybe a tut on this.
Video site local
Re: Video site local
I can't find any tutorials, and I certainly don't want to get into a project as large as a media center.
Try "XBMC" (link)
Their description:
"XBMC is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub that can be installed on Linux, OSX, Windows, iOS, and Android, featuring a 10-foot user interface for use with televisions and remote controls. It allows users to play and view most videos, music, podcasts, and other digital media files from local and network storage media and the internet."
The "about" page also mentions a web interface, so you should be able to use this software (?) on any device with a web browser.
I've never used it, but I think I might try it out.
