I don't really know much about religion, other than the high profile people who tend to look a bit mental. I certainly don't believe in the literal idea of a god as in a person who actually created everything. I am personally with you there. I have attended a Catholic school my entire life, I am all for cultural believes and moral actions, just the actual religious side of religion I see zero logic in. That being said, I do understand people who hold these beliefs and I understand why; I think for the most part it is easier to escape into a world with purpose, meaning and value rather than live in one where death is an ending.

Well there is no way to prove existence of any being to anything else so it is very possible that you are non-existent. You can only prove your own existence to yourself, and even that is debatable.
