So I just installed Ubuntu for the second time ever. My first attempt at trying to figure this OS out lasted around 4 hours, so I'm pretty fresh on the subject.
Therefore, I'm coming to you guys ( Mainly Jacek though I suppose :p ) to ask for stuff to do, a few tips and tricks and some Applications I should get. I'd really appreciate any and all guidance
Also, how about a subforum for Ubuntu / Linux type stuff? Considering the upcoming Linux server tutorials it could come in handy.
Maybe I should post this in the suggestions forum. Oh well...
Just installed Ubuntu. Now what?
Re: Just installed Ubuntu. Now what?
A general computing section might be useful. I'll think about it when I haven’t been awake for about 36 hours.
Hmm, things to do on Linux. I guess the first thing is to play with all the settings it directly lets you change in the GUI settings thingy. Then maybe browser the software centre for a bit. Get the terminal to look nice. Then make a mental list of all the things you want to change (maybe you want the window close buttons on the right etc) that you cant do easily in the GUI and start googling !
Alternatively, install flashplayer and watch funny can videos on YouTube

First thing I did was change the GUI Now I'm trying to install Wine 1.5 so that I can run HeidiSQL.
I will play with the settings all night I think.
