Decent Sound Recording Equipment

So, i make screencasts and also play the Trombone, Both of which I want to be able to record well.

So i decided, Im going to invest in a good microphone and stuff.

Now i just need a little help on what stuff to get, as in. How to set it up and whatever.

Is that good stuff? any of it not required/

I want to have it record onto my Laptop, but because its a condenser mic, It needs to have external power source (Ie. the mixing desk) I want to have a shockmount to dampen any vibrations and also have a good stand. Is all that stuff required?

I doubt it, just don't bash the mic when recording

Honestly I have no idea about audio things. I love the amount of equipment you get to play with if you are into that kind of thing though

I used to be the sound technitian at high school, for all the school performances. It was so fun, but I never bought the stuff, the school did. I just knew how to set it up. But that one didnt get recorded onto any laptops or anything, just went through a mega sound desk, then an amplifier then speakers. So :/
