Very scary indeed. And if you didn't know the 1.8 adventure update has been leaked! It can be downloaded from the official forum now and Notch doesn't mind people using it. So if you wanna try it out (amazing so far, a few bugs though) you can download the .jar file here!

It is really good ! I have played for about 4 hours now !
The villages look very cool, the new blocks are good and the endless abandoned mines are fun to explore
The only problem is that the terrain does not line up at the border between 1.7 and 1.8 chunks http://jacekk.co.uk/1.8/ bit worrying for server admins
I forgot the best thing too ! the new lighting, it's a little buggy but it looks amazing ! I have been caught out by the night a few times because you don't really notice it getting dark.

Maybe that will be fixed when the full version comes out.
I also love the new lightning, you don't need as many torches to feel "safe" anymore
I've also had some encounters with Endermen! Creepy stuff

Did you look at them and then look away? I think they spawn on peaceful but don't attack so if you have on peaceful go on easy

I tried all difficulties, they just stare blankly at me even when I look directly at them
Also, I get really poor FPS on 1.8, hopefully that will be fixed !

That's what they do and then when you look away they run towards you/teleports to you.
