Find WEP code?

(yes this is on phpacademy and yahoo answers. Word for word).
So we have a custom string for our wifi password (its not a computer generated password; its a phrase like "Bonny"). There's no WEP code that we know of.
Now we're trying to set up wifi on me and my brother's DSs. It requires a WEP code, and typing in the password won't work.
We theorize that it's some 5, 10, or 13 letter hash of the password, but we can't figure it out!
How do we figure out the code to enter?

I'm asking cuz you guys are smart and stuff.

;)

Anyway... Is the WEP code not the same as the password ? Does the DS definitely support WEP, and not require WPA ?

Can't you just set it in the router config ?

if you wanna be that technical, then why don't you look for the question on yahoo answers and see that I didn't include the first or last sentence? ;)

The DS asks for the WEP code… so I assume it supports it. ;) I don't know about wpa…

I don't know.  But I honestly don't know anything about wifi.

Google says that the WEP key is the same as the wireless password (not the password to access the router's admin panel). So you just need to type it in ;)

If it is meant to be a fixed length, try padding with 0.

But my brother "found" the key written down somewhere, so eveythimg is good! :)
Now we just need to find a way to tell our parents we figured out where it was written ;)
