Really ? A prime time TV advert for a browser. they don't even make any money form people using it ! This makes no sense !

Wow... It started to sound like a TV ad when it said "High Definition | fast".
(I read Minecraft first instead of Microsoft...)

False advertisement. IE is NOT fast, it's NOT secure and it WON'T change the world. If it does it will only be for the worse.
I can't believe Microsoft is still putting funds into IE. Include Firefox and Chrome as the default browsers with all copies of Windows instead.

They do? In which releases? I just bought W7 ultimate a few weeks ago and all I got with it was tonnes and tonnes of toolbars for IE9. I had to download both Chrome and FF myself.

I believe in the EU they are forced to, since the Supreme courts of the EU considered them to have a monopoly or something, and had to place fair competition. So they chose Firefox.
Could be wrong, but thats what I can recall by memory.
Also, does anyone else thing Supreme courts sounds like a game location, not something in real life?

I guess in most releases before IE9. When I bought Windows 7 a few months after it had come out I had a Firefox installer on my desktop.

Really? I've never bought or downloaded a w7 release with FF pre-installed. Very strange... Maybe I just got releases from before the mandatory Firefox addition?

I don't think it's mandatory for them, they don't have monopoly on web browsers. Maybe I got a weird copy, didn't buy it directly from Microsoft.

I just don't see the point of a TV advert for it ! They must have spent a lot on producing and running this but it gets them nothing in return

They should spend more time developing the thing so people wouldn't go for Chrome or FF instead...
I hear IE10 might be a bit better. If they integrate it well with Windows 8, that might not be to bad
