I'd love to have Project Tutorials, for example >=10 part tutorial on how to make a simple forum. And in each part you cover everything in detail. Would be awesome.

Doesn't he already sort of do that? Maybe not every single one of the series, but at least some of them already, like the blog tutorial or the user system tutorial (register, login, profiles).
Or is that not what you mean?

You mean something more complete ?
Actually that’s not a bad idea ! It could be an ongoing thing, and every now and then I can do something to it from one of the smaller tutorials.
But I have no idea what to do for the project

I was thinking more of a project that brings together many of these things.

The problem is that there are not many things that would include everything...

Thats true, but do you really have to cover Everything?
I just think having projects makes learning even more fun.

Well I do like the idea, I'll see if I can come up with anything.

I've often tampered with this idea as well;
Again struggling with the idea of ways to incorporate multiple projects (or a very large number) into one. The closest thing that I could come up with would be a forum or a social network-type site; both of which would be quite a large project for the scale of things. However, just throwing my thought into things.

You always seem to hate wordpress.. Why not a CMS?

hmm... an actual CMS might take a bit ages, but a site that has a CMS is a pretty good idea.

Hows about a members system? All your tutorials have the components there maybe you could show how it all works and interacts?

That is the idea of the project, to explain the bigger stuff like how to manage code and how things work together.
to be honest, I'm finding it very hard not to do a spoof of "visualUpload"

The project doesn't have to be a upload one though.
For example you could make a simple game, or a desktop application?

True, I would say it has to be web based though.

If it follows php, why not desktop?

Because so far I have only done web based tutorials ?

I would suggest web based game. Nothing too fancy. Just some cool features which the community could vote on.
