Also, because it was free, this does not mean I have abandoned my no adverts policy

Not really, no. But you can make your advert point to a site with tons of google adsense on it.

Yeah, they haven't made any posts though, and there are no website links in their profile. So I just left them

Yeah. My guestbook would have like 300 ads, then I added a reCAPTCHA, and it disappeared!
And I put reCAPTCHA on the forum. Here's hopin'!



I hate ads!

Google tends to send out coupons like this really easily. I think I have received three over the last few years. They used to be €75, but lately it seems €25 was what they gave away.

I guess you would have to spend thousands to get a decent increase in users.

Depends on what currency you're using I used 2.000 SEK (190 GBP) and I did get a serious increase in both active users and views on the forum I ran a while back. You just have to target the right audience with your keywords.

I get checks from google for 200 SEK (20 GBP) every once in a while, and I am able to share these with whoever I want.
So I could donate my next check towards the growth of Betterphp if you want.

Hmm, for anti-spam make it so that any account with < like 3 posts after 1 week of creation gets an reactivation email?

after a week of that you get banned or deleted?

i dont now what alex did on his forums but worked out well, a mean like no spam!!

He said anti-spam mods, but I didnt find any of those. captcha seems to be working so far.
