xampp apache wont start.

Heya guys. I'm having a small problem with xampp. My apache wont start running... I click the start button and it does start but only to stop again a few seconds later.
The port-check is telling me the ports are free after I closed both skype and pando media booster ( they both have a tendency to interfere with applications that use port 80 and 443 ).

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

6 times now. still the same problem... all ports are free, but it still wont start..

the status box tells me apache has started, but it's not actually running.

Yes. Yes it did. Silly me.

Syntax error on line 57 of C:/xampp/apache/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory

I had a backslash too many. It's all good now.
