A few things…

Post by JelvinJS7 »

1) I'm not sure if this goes in tutorial suggestions, feedback, or support. Therefore I'm putting it in general chat…
2) FORUM SUGGESTION: granted 1), I think there should be a section on the forum for topics that the user doesn't know where to go.
3) onto the purpose of the topic…

Before (I think it was before camp), I had no problems with watching betterphp videos on my iPod. Then I started getting some problems where the video suddenly pauses and I have to rewind a little or pause and let it buffer a lot to watch. Anything I or you can do about it?
I have this problem with some other youtubers, and some I don't. So it's not just a BP (BetterPHP) thing.

If its a iphone, it might be because when your connected to 3g internet, youtube purposly changes the settings for watching videos, by reducing the quality and also changing how the video buffers. It may be that even when connected to you wifi, youtube thinks its on 3g, so have a look.

If its on an ipod and its recently started, and your ipod isnt jailbroken with special stuff, then do a back up and restore via itunes, easiest and fastest way to fix problems as they pop up.

I myself actually download the php videos and then convert them in high quality for my ipod, makes it easy to watch stuff in school.

I do get some control over the filesize, but it has been the same since I started :? You may need more internet :D

Or just pause it until it buffers about half way before watching.

And on the forum suggestion, that is what General Chat is for, everything else :D

You can imagine how annoying and tedious that can be as it can be very slow. Especially since I have a tendency to watch vids at night when I'm tired but don't wanna sleep.

no. That's definitely not the problem. Otherwise I'd have that with every youtuber. Not just some. Plus I've restored my iPod twice. Each time i had already had the problem. I'm guessing the problem is:

And I'm switching from comcast to fios. My mom said the Internet will be much better, so that's hopeful. :-)

I think of general chat as the place that you out stuff that doesn't really apply to anything on the forum. Whereas "other" could be for support for something that doesn't have a category, instead of creating a bunch for every language that could have be out on the website.

Oh I see what you mean, that's not a bad idea then. I will have a think about how to organise the forums.

ahh, i thought you might meant it happened more randomly than just specifically.
It would be you connectivity then, thr ipod will start playing automatically once it buffers a certain period ahead, so as jacek said, leave it a little longer or getting better wiifi, i tend to hate 3g myself, always slow when i really need it.
