Re: Google+
You can use any email address for a google account.
I got an invite to that email address anyway.
So now I have an account, what do I do with it ?! Nobody I know seems to be registered.

is that gonna be final?
Re: Google+
Oh :/ Damn. I have no idea. Turned 18 this year. Sorry about that. I guess there's nothing you can do. I would have thought they'd have restricted that to less than 13 year olds.JelvinJS7 wrote: GRRR I'm not 18, so I can't use it!

You know, this is probably for the best. Facebook is FULL of little kids (from 8 to 12) that post crap about their personnal lifes, without realising that they shouldn't do that.
Google is probably just trying to avoid that. But yeah, still sucks that you can't join xD
Re: Google+
5 years. (according to google. I'm actually 683 years old)
the thing is, I know (on the most part) what to and not to do online. and I have knowledge on privacy setting and applying, so I know how I can survive.
and if it'll be released for everyone, then it's just bad marketing for google to not allow 13 year olds to use it. cuz then they won't provide any feedback for their generation, which google should want.

Re: Google+
Actually I think that Google doesn't want 13 year olds on Google +. Otherwise, they would allow it. You may think you know what to do and what not to do, but you'll realise in 5 years that your views on this will have changed At 13 I thought I knew what I could do. But as time passes, you realise that you have to more and more careful, as things you put online can have consequences on the University you'll get, on the job you'll get etc.JelvinJS7 wrote:5 years. Re: Google+
see the thing is, most of my friends will probably use plus. they all have a Facebook—I'm not allowed to. so I have buzz
if they do use it, then I want to be all "ha I'm all set up already!" to them, and chances are I will be allowed to use it.
and I don't have to worry about universities stalking me online (too much.) I'm either gonna be a programmer or a singer (that's a "wth?" combo!), but I'm more likely to be a programmer, and I will never really talk about any code on it to them, so nothing to worry about!
plus im not gonna do anything (or much) bad, and anything I wouldn't want an employer knowing, I wouldn't say (or I'd delete all records of it).
as for why they're doing it, I guess it's just to protect those underage. i understand what Google is trying to do as, as you said, little kids will probably be stupid. however, the current sign up age should be at least 13, maybe even 10 or 11. it's by that age that children start maturing to (as I say) mentally sane and conscious state, where they start to get a real sense of the world, and what's right and wrong.
so yeah I should be able to if I had a say in the matter.

Re: Google+
Isn't the brain fully developed around 21? Not that it has anything to do with this I just came to think about it
Talking about stupid kids, a guy on YouTube that does PC videos get asked a lot of question about PCs and he's really tired of it so he doesn't actually help anymore.
And one day some kid asked him on twitter "How can I speed up my computer", the guy replied "Delete your system32 folder".
Now, a stupid kid wouldn't know what "use" that folder has, so a day later the same kid replies "My computer wont start anymore, I'm writing from my moms laptop" and he replies "Get a magnet, take out your hard drive and turn it so the "CD looking thing" is facing upwards and drag the magnet from top to bottom on the "CD looking thing" to pull the data forward."
3 days later, the kids mom writes on Facebook "Our son took out our hard drive and totally ruined it, I expect a refund".
His answer to that was a bit brutal...
