Re: This is no longer viable.
I completely agree with you. The name needs to change, but to what? I'm not sure. I've never really been the creative type with names. YouTube is the only real place for us to gain recognition apart from roaming every other IT forum on the web and advertise ourselves, but it requires that at least ...

Re: This is no longer viable.
What we need to agree on first of all is our name. Should we stick with BetterPHP and risk pissing of Jacek for stealing his name, or should we come up with something new? Also, should we use a YouTube channel and make new video tutorials, or use another means of publication? It would probably be b...

Re: A photography website
The only problem I see is with all the e's in the URL. Other than that, from a layout perspective, it looks very nice.

I did not receive that email, but I am more than willing to do this. Edit: Nevermind. For some reason your e...

I believe you would have to register that domain. I see no reason why you wouldn't want to do that sub-domain route. They could always want to expand their website as another service that uses another sub-domain, or even use the domain for a home page that shows what they do.

Re: PHP Private Message Tutorial - Delete function not worki
Which file belongs to the view_conversation page? The view_conversation.page.inc.php file is blank for me. My guess since it's deleting everything is that your session is not set so the query deletes everything. I can tell you after I see the page.

Re: PHP Private Message Tutorial - Delete function not worki
I won't be able to get on for the next few days and have to go in a few minutes. Sorry I don't have time to help fix it. Temor, if you don't find a solution, perhaps take a look at the create_ conversation() funtion specifically line 93. I've never watched the tutorial but this array looks weird as ...

Re: php private message system part 4
There are words in the SQL language called reserved words. These are generally the conditions in an SQL statement such as SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, WHERE, etc. Now if you had a table name that used one of these reserved words, it would cause an error because SQL would assume you are using it as a cond...

Re: POST image and text system
Implode requires an array as the second parameter. If it's not an array it returns that error. Mysql_fetch_object is failing because your query is failing.

Sessions should be global unless you're setting them otherwise upon assigning them.

Re: Compare passwords at registration
Personally I think server side. Since you should be using input type password, the user won't know which part of their two fields are different so they would have to retype it anyways.

Don't get me wrong; I'm up for it. He is still around seeing as he updated a part of his personal website a few days ago but I don't think anyone has a way to contact him. If you want to, go ahead. When(if) jacek comes back just leave him a message or something.

Re: Tutorials?
To be honest I doubt that jacek will be coming back. He comes online once in a while for something, but never responds to us. The only drawback to making a new site is that jacek is still paying for this. The little traffic that he still gets that view ads and buy his scripts would stop and he would...

Re: My website =)
It looks very good. Clean, professional, and provides the necessary information. Just one (personal) annoyance. On every other page except the landing page, the "I build websites" message is on the same line as your name. Not sure if it was intended or not but it's no big concern. A concer...

Re: Poll Site Feedback
You could set a (encrypted) cookie on the user's browser. It can be cleared, but it's better than nothing. As for the feedback, I suppose the design is fair for the type of site it is. However, as Temor said, the colors aren't easy on the eyes. A few things that could be addressed would be: Error me...

Re: Pagination
So someone clicks a name, it should show the corresponding email to that person? You will need JavaScript for that with an onclick in your HTML to fire the JavaScript function such as: <?php // skipping to relative pagination while loop(it can be foreach as well) while($row = mysql_fetch_array($quer...

Re: member not activating in user activation
When posting code, use the
-Your code here-[/syntax] tags with your code in between them. It makes it a lot easier to read and makes the page a lot easier to scroll down. Are you still stuck on anything?

mysql_results() is not a predefined PHP function. Just remove the s so that it is mysql_result. Please use syntax tags....
