I need YOU! (Different screen resolutions)

Post by EcazS »

I'll make this short, I'm making a website and using a fixed background and basically I wanna know how it looks in different resolutions.

This is not the full site*, here is the link http://ecazs.net/beerandguns/. If you have the time then please take a screenshot, upload it somewhere and post the link here along with your screen resolution and what browser you were using.

*I'm only testing the background at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

(note: the site may load slowly because I haven't "optimized" the background image.)

Is that big black thing just you censoring stuff?

Also, if you have quite a high resolution could you possibly scroll down too? Just make sure the top part looks like Temor's picture.

That black thing is the end of the screen. Paint put it there for some reason :P

Here are two new screenies. First one is top of the page:

That's weird... Not only is the black brown-ish for you but it also wrapped the (Coming) on a new line :S

Could someone in Windows 7 try viewing the site in Firefox 3.6? Something weird is happening for me. All I see is a white background with the teamspeak window and it says the website stopped loading. Dunno if it's my installation of it..

I get the same thing. It loaded the full page initially, but then everything disappeared except for the teamspeak window.

Rather weird, I think something may be wrong with the Javascript then. It only happens in FF 3.6 though.

It's 7.0 now, I think you would be safe to not worry about it.

Some people still have 3.6. Like...my school, a lot of my friends and my dad...
Apparently 3.6 doesn't have a "New Update is available" window so they don't bother checking for new versions.

Apperantely the issue is with jScrollpane or whatever it's called. JS custom scrollbars. TSviewer freaks out when there is something that modifies the height or something like that but it's weird how it's only in FF 3.6.

Having a chat with the TSviewer admin ginger guy....maybe he can fix it.

My school uses IE6 and Firefox 3.6... And it's practically impossible to install something else. I managed to bypass the security and installed Chrome but once you click that "Lougout" button it's gone and then you have to re-install it each time.

Good news though! I managed to fix the weird Firefox 3.6 "Teamspeak-taking-up-all-space-with-an-infinite-loading" problem.... Simply by switching JS custom scrollbar script thingy

http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable saved me from IE6 during school, you can run it from your network drive folder or USB stick if you like.
