(Hoorayx3!)

It has been quite some time since I've been around here, but I am happy to also try and dig through some of the old posts and do what I can to help. If this forum can come alive again that would be wonderful. Here's to hoping. :D

Re: Ubuntu - Grub Problems

Yeah sometimes installing Windows can hide the Ubuntu install. Never heard to if the other way around though. ah well as long as you fixed it. I seem to have been the only person on the planet with that kind of problem; it was quite annoying trying to find a fix, but it is all good now ! Once again...

Re: Ubuntu - Grub Problems

When you do update-grub, what does the list look like ? Does it include the windows OS ? Thanks for the reply Jacek, I did end up fixing this though. I fixed the windows boot installer through a recovery disc, and then installed a windows/linux based bootloader; Everything appears to be working now!

But I guess that's not really all that important. It's all good as long as everyone has a good time, right? :)

Exactly! :lol:

Hope it was wonderful for everyone!

Re: Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve is the 24th. Christmas is the 25th and 26th. I don't know how it could be different for anyone else? (unless of course you mean you celebrated it on a different day) I totally agree on the 24th being Christmas eve. However, Christmas is only a single day holiday in my neck of the wood...

Re: Dystopia short stories?

Not that I have insight to books you should read on the subject, you are already covering a vast range of them, although I think it is quite interesting to note that this supposed dystopia which you speak of (particularly in "The Giver") can to some extent be considered a utopia. The whole...

Re: Remove .php File Extensions

Short Answer:
Yes, .htaccess can do that.

Longer Answer:
They are generally called "vanity" URLs. Jacek touches on them during his template tutorial series.

Dylan is lazy and just google's URLs Answer:

Re: Allowing users to register as male or female

Obviously, as Jacek send, it needs completion; I thought I'd point out to you also in case you're getting silly syntax errors:
[syntax=php]if($_POST['user_ender'] == 2) {[/syntax]

Has a typo on it:
[syntax=php]if($_POST['user_gender'] == 2) {[/syntax]

I was only specifying as it was the other number on the currently listing I was looking on; was not positive if it was subject to varying or not, although it looks pretty standard.

Hmm, okay! Thanks for everything guys. I will start to compile a list of parts that I'd like, and post back here for thoughts and comments Quick inquiry; for RAM; Is DDR3-1600 (200Mhz) a much better step up from DDR3-1333 for the money. I realize when choosing RAM it depends on what you are doing as...

Howdy good people in this non-existent community! I have a question for you all, coming to you partly hypothetically, and somewhat not .. but first, back-story! Basically, for a while now I've wanted to build my own computer; the customization and money saving-ness is very ideal in my mind. I know e...

I try my very best, no matter where I'm typing, to use proper grammar with as few mistakes as possible. It is a lot more clear and concise as to what you are trying to say, and then you don't have misunderstood words making you seem strange.

I feel very similar feelings towards BetterPHP: it is great!

Although, I like the lesser active forums, currently if you post a topic, it will get answered. People know each other around here and that is nice.

No problem; the only thing is that removes them.

You would not want to just do that if you'd prefer to notify your users instead of just changing things.
